Sore muscles

My allergies have been acting up. Possibly related to Momo's reassuming his position as pillow cat. Good thing I am going to see the Allergist tomorrow morning. We'll see what he says.

I finally got my annual report done. Now I just have to send it to Deanna tomorrow.

Went for a run up royal oka to nohl ranch and then back home. Was only seven miles but it took its toll on me. My calves and quads are sore today, and I haven't been sore since my last race.

It's been hot here in LA. I kind of enjoy not waking up feeling cold but don't like being hot during the day.

I've booked some of the cruise excursions. So far I have booked a helicopter glacier trek, a go kart adventure. I also have my eye on a kayaking trip. I also got my flight info. Good thing I have direct flights, but I didn't realise that it is 6 hours from LA to anchorage. Holy cow! That is further than Hawaii!

The amazing race!

Didn't register for the KB class early enough. Got there and the class was full! Bah, guess I'll just go to one fo the 24hr fitness ones instead. I am thinking of varying my workout a little to include perhaps some yoga for stretching and cross training instead of running all the time. Yoga bores me, but I think all that stretching will be good on mondays after my long sunday runs.

The amazing race premiered tonight! Fungus and I were so excited about it. It is the best reality show! And Charla the midget rocks! That is one tough gal! Eric thinks we should try out for it. So we can yell at each other all the time for the whole world to see! And Big Brother still sucks! The Julie Chen annoys me. She would never get a job like that if she weren't sleeping with the boss.

Jane Wyllie delivered a healthy baby girl, Amanda Marie Wyllie. She was born 7/5/05 at 1:27pm. At 6lbs 15oz and 20", she is a feisty little thing. Ping, Julie and I went to see the baby today. And I got to see baby poop. Eew! Thank goodness it didn't smell. Jane is very very happy and proud to be the mother of such a beautiful baby.

Finally finished writing the COPAS protocol! Phew! Now I can focus on the annual report and my poster for the SDB meeting...

Long weekend almost over

I ended up not doing too much for this long weekend. I finished revising my paper (which is a REALLY good thing, as my advisor will say based on how long it took me to send the paper out the first time) and will give my advisor the copy tomorrow. Perhaps we can send it out again before the end of the week and hopefully it will be accepted soon I can be a first author. Whoopee!

I think those stinking annual reports are due soon. I am trying to put it off as much as possible. We have to do these silly reports that no one read for the Biology Division every year. Bah!

The wonderful smell emanating from the oven is driving me crazy at the moment. I can almost taste the chocolate cake. Let's see how my first attempt at a recipe from the Joy of Cooking turns out.

I am really starting to get excited about my Alaskan trip. All the free food and the outdoor activities really beckons me. I have been lazy with the running these days, but I hope I get back into it soon.

Am going to the kickboxing class with fungus tomorrow. I hope that there will still be space because I haven't registered yet!

COPAS training is finally over. Now I just need to get the protocol written.....but at least I can go back to doing my work and focus my attentions on my project and Kelly.

I am quite excited about the new machine. All these experiments that I can now do....hmmm...hopefully I'll be able to graduate soon :P
